Guide for members of Study Boards at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences

Guide for members of Study Boards

This website has been designet to give new members of the Study Boards an insight into the tasks that a Study Board is responsible for, an overview of current legislation and regulations in the area, and a brief description of the requirements and expectations for the members’ work.

The Study Boards’ work and the laws, framework and rules associated with the Study Boards are described at several levels:

1) The Danish Act on Universities (University Act). Executive Order No. 778 of 07 August 2019.

2) Statute of the University of Southern Denmark 2018

3) Standard rules of procedure for the governing bodies at the University of Southern Denmark, approved 19 October 2004.

4) The Faculty’s main regulations.

5) The Study Board’s practice.

Members of Study Boards have a duty to familiarise themselves with the relevant current legislation. It is therefore recommended that you not only read the brochure but also continue to keep yourselves informed of any changes in the legislation. All the legislation can be found via retsinformation.

The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences would like to welcome you to the Study Boards and thank you for choosing to take part in the Study Board’s work and making yourself available for the programmes for which the Study Board is responsible.

Below you will find a brief reference text you can use in your work as a Study Board member.

Legal notice: Please note that only the Danish versions of the Danish Act on Universities and the Regulations for the University of Southern Denmark have legal validity.
