Social Capital & Innovation in the Danish Welfare Technology context

I’m interested in how entrepreneurs capitalize their embedded network through their membership in the Welfare Tech cluster. Meaning that in my dissertation the unite of observation is the Welfare Tech cluster that are located at the Forskerparken in Odense M.

In other words the entrepreneurs use their developed over time social capital in their miscellaneous networks to for example innovate. Wherein the main research question is how individual entrepreneurs in Welfare Tech uses the social context to make new inventions that will eventually be commercialized through the same network.

Thereby the unite of analysis is the Welfare Tech’s network structure (relational- & structural embeddedness), the individual entrepreneurs means (who I am, what I know & who I know) and their collaboration capability (trust, commitment & communication). Thus this will provide a more nuanced understanding of social capital (networking) and innovation in public funded clusters and the individual entrepreneurs.
