The healthcare system is short of labour, and the challenge will not diminish in the future with the prospect of more elderly citizens and patients. At SDU, researchers are developing new technology that can strengthen treatment, prevention and patient care - for the benefit of both healthcare and society.


At SDU, engineers, doctors, physicists, computer scientists and designers work side by side to create the healthcare solutions of the future. On this page you will find our leading experts and examples of some of SDU's many healthcare innovation projects - from robotics for surgery and rehabilitation, AI solutions to support doctors and nurses, and new technology to improve patients' quality of life. Robot-transported parcel locker makes it easy for patients and carers to collect medical equipment at OUH
