I thrive where language, strategy and digital solutions intersect
Mathias Bak Dinesen works as a Digital Marketing Specialist at Alflow, where he is responsible for both content and digital solutions. What motivates him most is seeing the direct impact of his work — whether in the sales department, for customers or among suppliers.
“I have always been interested in communication, but during my studies the technical side gradually became more important to me. Especially when we started working with IT-related subjects, I realised that I really enjoy immersing myself in more technical and detail-oriented tasks. Today, I work exactly at that intersection where I can combine language, strategy and digital solutions, and that suits me extremely well.
In my current role, I work broadly with marketing. A large part of my work focuses on content production and editorial responsibility: writing and editing texts for different platforms while also helping shape what we communicate and why. We are a small marketing team, which means you are given both freedom and responsibility for your tasks from start to finish.
I work in a highly technical specialist company, where communicating complex products clearly is a discipline in itself. Alflow is a specialised supplier and advisor within flow technology components and systems for the process industry — particularly within pharma, food production and chemicals. The products are technically complex, and I often act as the link between specialists, salespeople and customers.
Much of my work involves translating advanced specialist knowledge into something understandable and relevant for the target audience. This may include knowledge articles, campaign material or content for our digital channels, and it requires both a basic understanding of the technology and insight into customer needs.
”I have always been interested in communication, but during my studies the technical side gradually became more important to me. Especially when we started working with IT-related subjects, I realised that I really enjoy immersing myself in more technical and detail-oriented tasks.
I am also responsible for our website, and we are currently in the early stages of building a webshop. It is a large and exciting task because our customer journey is far more complex than traditional e-commerce. The products must be tailored to highly specific needs, so the focus is not on quick conversions, but rather on thinking long-term — technically as well as communicatively. In addition, I work with campaign planning and ensuring consistency across everything we communicate.
One of the things that motivates me most is seeing that what I create is actually being used. When colleagues in the sales department refer to something I have developed, or when a digital solution makes their work easier, it creates a strong sense that my efforts make a real difference. That applies both internally and externally — towards colleagues, customers and suppliers.
My education has given me a strong foundation and a way of continuously acquiring new knowledge. It is a broad professional profile that can be applied in many different directions. You do not become a specialist in just one thing, but you learn how to bridge people, technology and organisations — and that is a skill I use every day.”
