Master for working professionals

The Master's Degree Programme in Computer Science for working professionals is a part-time programme which can be completed in 4 years. Each academic year is divided into 2 semesters.

The diagramme below gives you an overview of the course of study. On smaller screens it works best in landscape mode.


Areas of specialization

Each specialization consists of a number of elective courses and projects, which we recommend you choose from if you wish to specialize in the relevant research area. The specializations should be considered as suggestions to give you a better overview of our electives, but you will not be required to stick to electives from just one specialization.

As a student on a part-time Master's degree programme for working professionals, you are not eligible for the Danish State Educational Grant (SU). In return, you will be paid a salary from your employer.

If your concurrent employment or status as a certified entrepreneur ceases during your course of studies, or if your concurrent employment is reduced to less than 25 hours per week, you will be transferred to the 2-year full-time programme, on which you study full-time and might be eligible for SU.

 

The rules for your degree programme are specified in the programme regulations, which are the formal description of the programme.

The programme regulations contain information about the purpose and structure of the programme, including which subject elements the programme contains, whether there are opportunities for a semester abroad, project-oriented courses or similar, rules for conducting teaching and exams and rules for participation in exams, etc.

A course description is a detailed description of a course, in which you can read about the aim and contents of the course, teaching methods, the expected workload and the form of the exam.

On the 3rd and 4th years of the programme, you will work on your Master's Thesis project, which makes up 60 ECTS by default. However, you may scale down your Master's Thesis project to 30 ECTS and take an extra 30 ECTS of constituent Master's courses.

During your project, you will typically be affiliated with a research group from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, who will be able to counsel and guide you in your literature search and your collection and processing of research data.
