Department of Sociology, Environmental and Business Economics

The Department of Sociology, Environmental and Business Economics (SEBE) covers research areas and activities focusing on cultural sociology, environmental and resource economics, sport and event management, buying behavior, innovation, rural research and energy management.
SEBE manages the Social Science studies in Esbjerg: Bachelors and Master of Science programmes in Sociology, Business Economics and Administration, Sport and Event Management, Energy Management, and in cooperation with Aalborg University, the Master of Science educations in Environmental and Resource Management, and Risk and Safety Management.
The focal point of the research is the strategic and the applied research. We often cooperate with the surrounding society which is both expressed in form of research projects and educations.  A great part of our externally financed research occurs through our three centers: Center for Rural Research (CLF), Energy Management Research Center (EMC) and the Danish Centre for Risk and Safety Management (RISK) (Jointly coordinated with Aalborg University). We do also perform research for the Danish Maritime Authority.
