BlueSDU is an interdisciplinary research network unifying maritime and marine researchers at SDU since 2014.
BlueSDU consists of researchers from different departments across five faculties and is open to all researchers at SDU.
Our mission is to perform excellent interdisciplinary research within the maritime and marine domain and to connect people and organisations outside of the university with our blue research environments.
How do we work?
Looking at maritime and marine issues from an interdisciplinary perspective allows the network to perform a 360-degree analysis of societal and theoretical issues within the blue domain.
To make sure we are updated on each other’s research fields, we meet once a year at Svanninge Bjerge research station, where we pitch and develop research and project ideas within our fields of interest.
Knowing each other’s fields of expertise allows us to network on each other’s behalf in relevant contexts. In this respect, the network focuses particularly on integrating early career researchers internally at SDU and in relation to external partners.
