Background: Political Science. Former Head of the Centre for Educational Development at Aarhus University and previously researcher and teacher in Political Science.

I am involved in developing teaching quality and teaching competences in various contexts:

When supporting individual teachers in improving their own teaching —such as in the Lecturer Training Programme for assistant professors— I see my role starting from their own observations and analyses of the pedagogical challenge. Based on pedagogigal research and development work, I help deepen the analysis, advise on possible initiatives, implementation and communication, and provide feedback on observed results. It is essential that development projects are practice-oriented and have direct value for teaching.

Over the past three years, I have been deeply engaged in advising on teaching with AI and have organised workshops for teachers across many departments. My starting point has been that AI is both an unavoidable and complex condition for teaching and learning. I aim to inspire and facilitate a development process rooted in the academic environments. AI will affect different disciplines, programmes, and professions in diverse ways—but no one knows exactly how. This calls for experimentation, curiosity, and ongoing dialogue and exchange of experiences.

In occasional advisory work on quality policy and guiding principles, my key starting point is always the university’s unique educational mission: to deliver research-based teaching and, as a consequence, to provide student-centred and active learning in strong academic communities.

When advising on quality policy and underlying principles, I always start with the university’s core educational mission: to deliver research-based teaching and, as a result, foster student-centered, active learning within strong academic communities.
