The award is given to a researcher for communicating about their academic field in a way that is vibrant and creative and is aimed at a wide range of recipients.
In the nomination of candidates, emphasis may be placed on one or more of the following criteria:
- An exceptional dissemination effort during the past year
- Outstanding research dissemination over an extended period of time/many years
- Dissemination of research that has reached the general public, i.e. outside the university/research world
- Dissemination of research within a research area which is particularly difficult to access
- New ways of communicating their message.
The Research Dissemination Award has been given since 2005, and each year’s recipient gives the keynote lecture at SDU's Annual Celebration
