Project description

CONTEXT is a specialized education program for 12 PhD students developed in collaboration between 3 universities and 6 non-academic partners (see below). The 12 students are staying half of the time at the university and the other half of the time at the non-academic partner.

Background:
Unfortunately, exposure to traumatic events is common throughout the world. At the same time, there can be great cultural and contextual variation in the individual's response to a traumatic event, which can have a significant impact on screening, assessment, prevention and treatment of traumatic responses within and beyond national borders.

Goal:
The goal of CONTEXT is therefore to conduct high quality, innovative research, build capacity and expertise, and foster innovative practice in global psychotraumatology.

Focus areas:
CONTEXT has three special focus areas:

  1. EU-based asylum seekers and refugees;
  2. Emergency-service personnel and humanitarian first-responders;
  3. Survivors and perpetrators of childhood- and gender-based violence
