Thin-film devices based on advanced materials such as organic semiconductors, metal oxides, graphene, and hybrid perovskites can provide new or improved functionalities
We investigate both more fundamental aspects of how the thin-film microstructure, morphology and interfaces influences device performance. To support this work, advanced characterisation using synchrotron facilities is conducted. These activities also include more applied aspects towards upscaling and system integration using scalable thin-film synthesis techniques, such as roll-to-roll (R2R) coating technology from both vacuum and solution processing.
Related study programmes
You can study Physics and Technology at SDU, where a part of the education is focused on microfabrication and device physics. Today, this is available in Odense, and we expect that a Physics and Technology master programme will also be available in Sønderborg from 2023.
