About Inflammation Research
Research in the Inflammation Research Unit is conducted at a high international level on the immune system and its role in disease development, particularly inflammatory diseases and cancer. The department employs innovative molecular and biomedical technologies to enhance the understanding of mechanisms underlying major diseases and contribute to the development of new and more individualized treatments.
The department promotes translational research by bridging the clinically oriented environments at Odense University Hospital and the more basic research environments at the Faculty of Science. The research is disseminated through highly esteemed international journals, to the healthcare sector, and broadly to the surrounding society. The department teaches medical, chiropractic, and biomedical students in basic biomedical subjects, including immunology, molecular biology, and cell biology.
