Visitors from Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Open ADR Alliance, and SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden

Centre for Energy Informatics recently had the pleasure of visits from Director of Demand Response Research Center (DRRC) at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab Mary Ann Piette, Technical Direktor Rolf Bienert at Open ADR alliance, and Groupleader at Sustainable Energy Systems Group Sofia Stensson from SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden.

Day one our visitors went to the Green Tech Center in Vejle where they had a tour of the facilities and possibilities the Green Tech Center holds. After that representatives from Center for Energy Informatics and the Green Tech Center looked more closely at the Demand Respons in Commercial Buildings project – what challenges and opportunities does this project hold. Lawrence Berkeley National Lab is also a partner in the project. There was also time for a discussion on what Denmark and the US can learn from each other.

The second day of the visit was at University of Southern Denmark where both Mary Ann Piette and Rolf Biernert presented their work at SDU Energy Club. Around 40 students and employees attended the talks. Mary Ann started her presentation by stating that: “We keep a close eye on the work you do at Center for Energy Informatics”

The visit also left time for a brief presentation by Sofia Stensson on the work they do at SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden and a tour of the Living Lab in Building OU44 at University of Southern Denmark.
