Abstract:
Defects play important roles in different fields such as condensed matter physics, high energy theory, and quantum information science. In this talk, I will discuss lattice realizations of topological defects in (1+1)-d, taking the transverse field Ising model and the three-state Potts model as examples. I will also comment on the entanglement entropy in presence of a defect and the extraction of physical quantities such as the defect g-function.
