In this interactive workshop, students are introduced to key concepts in cybersecurity through engaging hands-on activities. The workshop is developed and delivered by software engineering students from SDU and offers a dynamic mix of theory and practical exercises.
Participants explore three major areas of cybersecurity: cryptography, steganography, and brute force attacks. Through practical tasks like decoding Caesar ciphers and uncovering hidden messages in images, students learn how information can be protected—or exposed—through different methods. The session concludes with an exercise simulating brute force password attacks, providing a critical look at security vulnerabilities in a safe learning environment.
The workshop emphasizes problem-solving, creative thinking, and digital responsibility—preparing students to better understand and engage with the digital world around them.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the basics of cryptography and encryption
