Subletting

Subletting is a housing option where you rent a room or an apartment from a Danish SDU student who is going abroad for one semester, for example on exchange or internship.

Sublet housing can vary significantly in size, location, and price, as the apartments are privately owned or rented by the Danish students. However, all sublet options are fully furnished, which makes this a convenient solution for international students who are staying in Sønderborg for a limited period of time and do not want to invest in furniture.

The lease period is aligned with the academic semester:

  • Fall semester: until 31 January
  • Spring semester: until 30 June

Subletting can be a very suitable option for international students who are looking for more privacy, need a specific type of housing, or are arriving in Odense with an accompanying partner. It can also be a good solution if you prefer living in a non-student housing environment or in a specific area of the city.

Please note that sublet housing is offered for a limited period only, and availability may vary from semester to semester.
