Student life at SDU
With more than 100 student associations across our five campuses, SDU offers a wide range of activities alongside your studies. You can join a sports team, take part in cultural activities, volunteer or become part of a professional network. Student associations are also a good way to meet people with similar interests.
Throughout the year, SDU’s campuses come alive with events and traditions, from semester start celebrations and the Annual University Celebration to Student Unity Day, which connects students across the campuses. Friday bars and study groups are also a natural part of student life, offering informal ways to spend time with classmates.

Building friendships
Starting university in a new country means meeting people from different backgrounds. At SDU, you will meet both Danish and international students, and friendships can grow through classes, student organisations, sports and everyday life. Some connections happen naturally, while others may take a little more initiative.
Getting to know Danish students can take time. Danes may seem reserved at first, but joining activities outside your programme, talking to classmates or taking part in local clubs can make it easier to get to know people. Whether your friends are from Denmark or elsewhere in the world, building a social network can help you feel at home.
