Entry requirements

To qualify for admission, you must have a relevant degree on a Bachelor's level. You are qualified for admission if you hold one of the following degrees:

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from SDU Sønderborg - gives you a legal claim for admission
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from SDU Odense
• Bachelor's degree in Game Development and Learning Technology from SDU commenced in September 2022 or later
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Development from ITU
• Bachelor’s degree in Software from AAU
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from AAU or AU
• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber and Computerteknologi from AAU

You can also apply if you hold a similar, relevant degree in Science or Engineering. To be considered, your degree must include a minimum of:

• 20 ECTS in Software Development and Programming
• 5 ECTS in Operating Systems
• 5 ECTS in Distributed Systems and Networking
• 5 ECTS in Database Systems
• 5 ECTS in Algorithms and Data Structures
• 5 ECTS in Statistics

Notification of legal claim from September 2028
A territorial legal claim will apply to the programme from the September 2028 intake.
The following programs have a legal claim to this program:

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from SDU, campus Sønderborg - gives you a legal claim for admission

Language requirements

The programme is taught in English. If your Bachelor's Degree is not from SDU, you are required to submit proof of your proficiency in English. See the English language requirements.

Ranking criteria

This programme has a limited number of study places. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of available study places, study places are allocated between two sorting groups. Non-fee-paying and fee-paying applicants are assessed according to the following ranking criteria.

Non-fee-paying applicants

Study places will be offered to qualified non-fee-paying applicants based on the average mark from your qualifying Bachelor’s degree. Based on the marks from your qualifying Bachelor’s degree, a simple average is calculated on your local scale. If your average mark falls in the upper third of your local scale, 3 points are given, an average mark in the middle third of the scale elicits 2 points, and an average mark in the lower third elicits 1 point. If you have not completed your Bachelor’s degree at the time of application, your average mark is calculated based on the marks you have received at the time of application.

Fee-paying applicants

Study places will be offered to qualified fee-paying applicants based on an interview.
