Why Chemistry?
Do you want to understand how the world is built – right down to the molecular level? A master’s in Chemistry gives you deep insight into advanced chemical principles and trains you to solve complex problems that make a real difference. You will develop expertise in modern analytical methods, laboratory techniques and data processing, and learn to work independently in research environments.
The programme combines theory and practice and offers opportunities to specialise in areas such as materials chemistry, environmental chemistry or biochemistry. You will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and a strong academic community with dedicated lecturers.
With a master’s in Chemistry, you open the door to exciting careers in industry, research and development – both nationally and internationally.
Choose Chemistry if you…
- are curious about how substances and materials work – and want to understand the world at a molecular level.
- want a programme that combines theory with practical laboratory work and builds strong analytical skills.
- dream of a career developing sustainable solutions, new materials or innovative technologies that make a difference for people and the planet.
Course highlights
As a Chemistry student, you will become skilled at understanding how substances are structured and how they react under different conditions. You will be trained to design and carry out experiments, analyse complex data and use advanced instruments to study materials and molecules. The programme blends theory with practical laboratory work, enabling you to turn knowledge into real-world solutions.
After graduation, you will be able to:
- develop new materials and chemical processes for industry and research.
- analyse and optimise chemical systems using modern methods and technologies.
- communicate your expertise and contribute to innovation in energy, environment and health.
You can use Chemistry to create sustainable solutions, develop advanced technologies or pursue research.
Teaching
Critical thinking and freedom of speech are core values in the Danish education system and you will be encouraged to analyse, question and discuss the course topics and materials.
Your daily schedule alternates between lectures, group work and practical laboratory exercises using advanced methods and equipment. Study groups are used to tackle assignments and challenges, strengthening your academic skills and teamwork abilities. You will experience a close-knit community of fellow students and lecturers in an inspiring learning environment. This approach prepares you to apply theory in practice.
If you hold Danish qualifications
If you speak Danish and hold a Danish bachelor’s degree, please see the Danish version of this page for relevant information.
