How to apply

Submit your application through the Danish application system DANS.

You have a legal claim for admission to the programme, if you have a bachelor's degree in:

  • Economics and Business Administration from SDU
  • Market and Management Anthropology from SDU

Legal claim means that you have the right to be admitted to the programme. Your legal claim is valid for three years.

You are qualified for admission to the programme, if you have a bachelor's degree in:
    • Economics and Business Administration from another Danish university
    • Economics (Business Economics line) from SDU

    Subject requirements

You can still apply for admission, even if you don’t have one of the bachelor’s degrees listed above. You must have an equivalent qualification of at least 75 ECTS within the field of Economics and Business Administration, comprising at least 5 ECTS within each of the following subjects:

    • Microeconomics or Managerial Economics
    • Accounting
    • Corporate Finance
    • Marketing
    • Organizational theory
    • Statistics
    • Methods for collection and analysis of data
      • statistics or other qualitative or quantitative methods, including mathematics or operations research/operations management. Data collection may be included to a minor extend.
    • 5 ECTS Theory of Science and Scientific Methodology or Bachelor thesis (minimum 15 ECTS). A thesis is defined as an independent scientific work written at the end of the study program.
    • Additional 35 or 40 ECTS within the area of business economics and business administration, amounting to a total of at least 75 ECTS within the subject area (being marketing, accounting, finance, organization, business/operational economics and the like).
    • A total of 10 ECTS within the subject areas socioeconomics, law and statistics besides items “statistics” and “Additional methods for analysis of data” may be included.

More degrees may qualify for admission depending on the specific courses you have followed.

If you are a bachelor’s student at SDU, you can apply for admission even if you have not yet completed your bachelor's degree programme. In that case, you may be offered admission on the condition that you complete your bachelor's degree programme before study start.

If you hold relevant qualifications, but you are short of one or more specific courses, you may be able to follow supplementary courses to meet the requirements.

      Ranking criteria

This programme has a limited number of study places. Applicants with a legal claim for admission are admitted first. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of available study places, the remaining places are allocated between two sorting groups, non-fee-paying and fee-paying applicants. All applicants are assessed according to the following ranking criteria.

      • 5 points for meeting the entry requirements in advance, i.e. not needing supplementary courses
      • 1 point for having passed 10 ECTS in microeconomics
      • 1 point for having passed 10 ECTS in accounting
      • 1 point for having passed 10 ECTS in organisational theory
      • 1 point for having passed 15 ECTS in quantitative analysis (statistics, mathematics, etc.)

Applicants are ranked based on their scores. Available study places are offered to the applicants who achieve the highest total score. If more applicants achieve the same score, a simple average mark will be used for selection. a

      • issuing of diplomas

The tuition fee does not cover living expenses, books, equipment, or exam-related tools such as computers or calculators.
