Organic and perovskite solar cells

This program has a possible flexible start and length.

Preferred student profile

Interest in investigating the optical, electronic, mechanical properties of polymers, perovskites, metal-oxides and/or hybrid materials, and optoelectronic devices made thereof.

Experience or wish to learn different spectroscopic (e.g. UV-vis, FTIR, photoluminescence) and microscopic (e.g. AFM, Helium Ion, SEM) techniques for think film characterization, as well as electrical characterization (e.g. J(V), EQE, lifetime, TPV, TPC, CELIV) of devices.

Experience of wish to learn thin film deposition techniques (e.g. slot-die coating, roll-to-roll coating, reactive sputtering) as well as fabrication of complete solar cell devices.

Research topics:

  • Non-fullerene acceptors
  • Perovskites
  • Metal-oxide interlayers
  • Antioxidants
  • Stability (lifetime studies)
  • Roll-to-roll fabrication
  • Green chemistry
  • Nanoparticle inks
  • Supercapacitors
  • H2 production from water splitting

Description

We are a multidisciplinary team consisting of researchers from field of physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, joining our forces together to find solutions for green energy technologies of the future!

You will get hands-on experience in state-of-the-art laboratories equipped for characterization of thin films as well as development of diverse (opto-)electronic devices.

We have several national, European and international research projects running, and you can decide to join the already existing experiments, as well as start your own indepedent experiment. For all the activities you will receive support and supervision from the relevant supervisor.
