We investigate the unique characteristics of FOSS projects, from community governance and transparent collaboration to volunteer motivations and distributed coordination.
A central focus of our work is FOSS sustainability: What factors influence the long-term sustainability and health of FOSS projects? We aim to advance understanding of FOSS sustainability and develop strategies that support thriving, resilient open source ecosystems.
