INSPIRE – shaping inclusive gender equality in research

INSPIRE is a cutting-edge research project working to establish Europe’s Center for Excellence on Inclusive Gender Equality in Research & Innovation.

The project aims to bring together the newest research on gender equality, diversity and inclusion; policy approaches; and innovative practices in order to provide a space for scholars, practitioners, equality experts and trainers to connect and share knowledge and best practices, while also co-creating ones.

The project is organised around four thematic knowledge and exchange hubs (KSHs) where researchers and practitioners exactly come together to develop state of the art knowledge and co-create new practices:

  1. sustaining change
  2. widening participation,
  3. intersectionality
  4. fostering innovation and change in the private sector.

These KSHs provide support to 12 communities of practice to facilitate GEP implementation and foster mutual support for the co-development of innovative practices, customised training and pan-European data collection.

In the project, SDU is both a WP leader and co-leads the Sustaining Change knowledge and exchange research hub. Here, SDU has been active in leading the KSH1 work, has planned and facilitated workshops and trainings in the project, helping to operationalize research results into concrete interventions and tools that help to sustain and deepen inclusive gender equality change in research and innovation institutions across Europe.
