Her journalistic work takes place under extremely challenging conditions and often in countries marked by war and military conflicts, and her groundbreaking work has provided Danes with a deeper and more nuanced understanding of international affairs, both historically, geopolitically, and on a very personal level.
She has received several of the media industry's most prestigious awards, including the Cavling Prize in 2015, and she is an excellent example of the difference skilled journalists can make.
