CCUMIN – A Community for Students Curious about Socio-Cultural Perspectives on Marketing and Consumption

Are you interested in consumer research and the cultural dynamics of consumption, markets, and marketing? Do you want to connect with like-minded students and engage in discussions on research-based interpretive consumer research?

Consumer Culture and Market Intelligence Network (CCUMIN) is a student network organized by the Consumption, Culture and Commerce Research Group at the Department of Business and Management. The network is dedicated to fostering curiosity, collaboration, and engagement with culturally-oriented perspectives on consumption and markets, often stemming from the branch of research called Consumer Culture Theory. The network provides a space to exchange ideas, discuss contemporary research, and connect with faculty members and fellow students who share an interest in this field of study.

What We Offer

At least three times per semester, we host research presentation sessions where all CCUMIN members are invited to engage with cutting-edge consumer culture and marketing research. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to see research in the making and connect with researchers and fellow students in an informal setting.

The presentations are typically delivered by researchers from the CCC Research Group—a globally recognized hub for Consumer Culture Theory (CCT) research. Sometimes, we also invite distinguished scholars from other universities to share their insights.

Each session is followed by an informal gathering, where you can chat with the presenters and fellow members over snacks and beverages. It’s a great chance to connect, share thoughts, and learn in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

How to Join

Everyone is welcome to attend our research presentations. If you’d like to become a member of the network, reach out to Christian Dam at chrd@sam.sdu.dk.

We look forward to welcoming you!
