About SDU

Procurement at SDU

SDU is committed to creating responsible, sustainable and efficient procurement. As a supplier, you become part of a public organisation that emphasises transparency, dialogue and partnership - and that demands quality, sustainability and professionalism in all agreements.

Principles and requirements

As a public authority, SDU is obliged to follow the EU Procurement Directive and the Danish Public Procurement Act. This means that a large number of our purchases are carried out as tenders, and that we always work on the basis of a fixed framework for transparency and fair competition.

Within this framework, our procurement policy and strategy defines how we buy - and how we work with suppliers. The aim is to ensure responsible, sustainable and efficient procurement that both complies with legislation and supports the university's operations and development.

For you as a supplier, this means that we expect digital solutions such as e-catalogues and electronic invoices - but also that you can contribute to the five pillars that form the foundation of our procurement policy:

  • Sustainable and circular consumption - products and solutions that minimise waste, are recyclable and have a low carbon footprint.
  • User solutions and collaboration - procurement that is customised to user needs and adds value to the university's daily operations.
  • Supplier collaboration and partnerships - a form of collaboration where we develop better solutions together through dialogue and innovation.
  • Efficient procurement and processes - digital and transparent processes that make collaboration seamless.
  • Responsible and sustainable economy - total economic solutions where price, quality and environment go hand in hand.
