Signe B. Clemmensen receives research award
Signe B. Clemmensen from the Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Biodemography Research Unit (EBB) at the Department of Public Health has received the Schroll Junior Research Prize for Excellence 2026.
The prize is awarded by the Danish Epidemiological Society to an early-career epidemiologist who has distinguished themselves in research, methodology, teaching or research dissemination.
Signe B. Clemmensen received the prize in recognition of, among other things, her research into tattoo ink and the risk of lymphoma and skin cancer. A study she led and published in 2025 has received around 112,000 views, 33 citations and an Altmetric score of 1,761.
The study has also attracted considerable media attention in Denmark and internationally, including coverage by New Scientist, National Geographic, Euronews, TV 2 and Berlingske.
The prize was presented at the annual meeting of the Danish Epidemiological Society.
