Health researcher appointed to the board of the Independent Research Fund Denmark
The Scientific Council for Health and Disease under the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF) is welcoming another member from the University of Southern Denmark: Professor Kate Lykke Lambertsen.
Kate Lykke Lambertsen, Professor at the Department of Molecular Medicine, has been appointed to the Scientific Council for Health and Disease under the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF).
In this role, she will help allocate the roughly DKK 2 billion that DFF awards annually to support groundbreaking research.
– I see it as a great privilege to contribute to the work of the Independent Research Fund Denmark. Research into health and disease is vital to our shared future, and I am deeply passionate about helping ensure that the best ideas and most talented researchers get the opportunity to realise their full potential, says Kate Lykke Lambertsen.
She herself has previously received funding from DFF – first in 2004, then in 2015 and 2020, and most recently in 2024, when she was awarded a grant for a project exploring sex differences in how metabolic disorders affect inflammation and recovery following a stroke.
The Scientific Council for Health and Disease supports researchers working across all areas of basic, translational, clinical, and public health research related to human health and disease.
The council has 18 members. In addition to Kate Lykke Lambertsen, SDU is also represented by:
- Ditte Caroline Andersen, Professor, Department of Clinical Research
- Marianne Skovsager Andersen, Professor, Department of Clinical Research
The Board of the Independent Research Fund Denmark has just appointed 13 new members across its five scientific councils. In total, the five councils comprise 75 recognised researchers.
