Danida

Danida is the term used for Denmark’s development cooperation, which is an area of activity under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

Danida Fellowship Centre (DFC) takes care of the administration of support to development research projects funded by Danish development cooperation. The support includes north driven development research projects and south driven development research projects. In line with Denmark’s new development strategy, Danish development cooperation targets four main priority areas:

  • Human rights and democracy
  • Green growth
  • Social progress
  • Stability and protection

The support aims at generating new knowledge and strengthening research capacity in the priority countries in order to promote the overall objective of the Danish development cooperation to reduce poverty and support sustainable development. In addition, DFC administers travel grants for field studies carried out by Master’s degree students at Danish universities.
