The 2025 Master’s Thesis Award: Nadia Meincke Egedal

The newly established Master’s Thesis Award goes to Nadia Meincke Egedal from the Faculty of Science. She is awarded the prize for her thesis ‘Elucidating the Role of Dual-Function Protein AOC3 in Adipocytes Insights into Cellular Metabolic Changes and Intrinsic Effects’, which was awarded the top mark of 12.

According to thesis supervisor Professor Jan-Vilhelm Kornfeld, the thesis is a rare combination of scientific discovery, strategic collaboration, methodological innovation, and industry-relevant application, all executed at an exceptionally high academic level. Her contributions have not only advanced our understanding of obesity but have also laid critical groundwork for future therapeutic developments, making her an outstanding candidate for this prize.
