CoffeeDrone

Drones for the Coffee Flowers project

The CoffeeDrone project is part of the Coffee Flowers: Waste to value project, and is led by Professor Jan Vang, SDU Global Sustainable Production. The high-level goal of Coffee Flowers project is to encourage female entrepreneurship in Uganda by supporting sustainable farming practices. CoffeeDrone focuses on the role of drone technology in this context.

UAS focus

SDU UAS Center is mainly focused on the use of drones to support automated precision irrigation with Fasterholt machinery and the training of locals in the use of drones. The aim is to support sustainable watering through drone-based detection of water stress by monitoring surface temperature changes in plants using thermal imagery. Field trials are conducted both in Europe and in Uganda.

CoffeeDrone partners

Fasterholt, PAD & T Group, NuCafe, Gulu University, Aalborg University, Lehman & Partners DK, and University of Southern Denmark.
