Safety and Health and audit practices in Bangladesh

Professor  Peter Hasle is PI

Occupational safety and health in developing countries is getting still more attention, as we in Denmark and other industrialised countries are sourcing from these countries. An important element in sourcing is buyer audits of Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and social conditions for workers.
Large resources are used for these audits, but little is known about how they work in practice and whether they have any practical impact in supplier factories. Danida has now granted nearly five mill. DKK to study audit practices and consequences for OSH in Denmark.

The project will be carried out by Professor Peter Hasle and Professor Jan Vang Brambini-Pedersen, Global Sustainable Production, in cooperation with a project team with researchers from both Denmark and Bangladesh.
