IRS - Mental Health Services in the Region of Southern Denmark

Research areas

Research in child, adolescent, adult, and forensic psychiatry in the Region of Southern Denmark.

Within a relatively short span of years, two clinical departments, with their headquarters in Middelfart and Aabenraa, have developed robust research environments. These environments facilitate a connection to research activities across all psychiatric departments within the Region of Southern Denmark. There's a pronounced focus on engaging patients in research and bringing research findings closer to clinical practice. Moreover, involving relatives in research is given high priority. Notably, these units are recognized, both nationally and internationally, for their research efforts aimed at reducing coercion, preventing suicide, and addressing ADHD.

The research environments boast a broad spectrum of professional diversity and clinical expertise, which fosters collaboration with a multitude of partners, including those in somatic medicine, both within Denmark and internationally. This diversity and expertise are instrumental in attracting talented researchers.
