The research unit focuses on clinical nursing and research within plastic surgery and breast surgery care pathways. Its research addresses the care and treatment of patients across the entire surgical pathway, with emphasis on the development, evaluation, and implementation of evidence-based practices that support prehabilitation, recovery, health-related quality of life, and continuity of care.
A central area of research is the use of patient-reported outcomes (PROMs) as an integrated part of clinical practice. This includes work on the translation and validation of PROM instruments, as well as studies of feasibility and implementation in clinical settings. The unit also investigates how PROMs can be meaningfully embedded in interdisciplinary clinical workflows to support clinical dialogue and quality improvement.
The research is conducted in close interdisciplinary collaboration across clinical and academic settings, professions, and sectors.
