Cooperation agreements concerning enrollment in a PhD programme for institutions and companies
In connection with cooperation between, for example public institutions or private partners and PhD School regarding total or partial funding of a PhD study a formalized cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences’ PhD School and the institution / private partner must be signed.
The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences’ School is helpful in drafting the individual agreement and in dialogue with the co-financing institution / private partner and SDU's host institution we help to ensure that the content of the agreement meets the individual needs, wishes and applicable rules of the parties. We help to approve the final agreement, obtain signatures and follow the individual agreement on the potential PhD Student until enrollment at the PhD The school has taken place.
If you as an institution or company wish to enter into a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences’ PhD. School, please contact Simon Kleinschmidt Salling and learn more about the possibilities.
Normally the wish for a cooperation agreement concerning a PhD study is based on individual contacts between researchers at one of the departments of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences and representatives from either the private sector or public institutions. Once this first contact is established and the possibility of entering into an agreement for cooperation regarding a PhD study has been discussed the PhD School’s secretariat wishes to become involved in order to assist in the further process.
When the partner / partners have a named candidate, the following procedure must be followed to enter into a PhD.study cooperation agreement and have the relevant candidate enrolled at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences’ PhD School. Note that there are actually two parallel processes, i.e. Application for enrollment with external funding without employment at the University of Southern Denmark and drafting of formal cooperation agreement about PhD study between the external party and the SDU.
1. The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences PhD School's requirements for enrollment must be met. Check here.
2. The potential PhD Student submits an application for enrollment with external funding without employment at the University of Southern Denmark. Find requirements for the application here. The application itself includes Documentation for admission education and a project description for the proposed PhD project. An assessment committee evaluate the material and within one month inform the applicant if the requirements for enrollment are met.
3. At the same time, PhD School assists the external partner and host institution at SDU to draft a cooperation agreement describing the implementation, financing, etc. of the project. The cooperation agreement is drafted by SDU RIO lawyers. SDU RIO, The Head of Faculty of Business and Social Sciences’ PhD School, the Head of Department at the host department, any supervisors at the host institute, the external partners and the PhD Student will signed the agreement..
4. When both a positive assessment of application material and a cooperation agreement are available, enrollment of the PhD Students can take place.
