The performed rural landscape through art in situ

How do we interact with art in public spaces in the rural landscape - and how does it contribute to our understanding of rural spatial justice? These are two of the questions PhD student Morten Frølund has explored in his PhD project on art in the landscape.

About the PhD project

 

The PhD project investigates cultural collages that are shaped through different social and sensory practices around landscape-based art in rural areas. Affect, memory, landscape change and connection to landscape and community are the main interests.

 

The PhD is part of a collaborative project on sustainable culture in rural areas between SDU, Central Denmark Region, Northern Denmark Region, Southern Denmark Region and the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces.

 

The project was completed in 2023.
