OPTITWIN Project Kicks Off at SDU

Odense, Denmark - October 15, 2026: A new research project titled “OPTITWIN: Next-Generation Digital Twin Platform for Intelligent Optimization of Heating and Cooling in Buildings” was kicked off with a meeting held at SDU Odense Campus on October 15, 2026, bringing together the project partners and collaborators.
The project is funded by EUDP with a total budget of DKK 8,909,592 and runs from October 2026 to September 2029.
OPTITWIN aims to develop a next-generation, AI-enhanced Digital Twin platform for intelligent optimization of heating and cooling systems in buildings. The project will focus on predictive HVAC control and integrated optimization of heating, cooling, district energy systems, and thermal energy storage, enabling more intelligent and data-driven building operation.
The project brings together expertise from SDU Center for Energy Informatics, 4i4, Kelvin, Odense University Hospital, and PlanEnergi.
Associate Professor Muhyiddine Jradi from SDU Center for Energy Informatics is the Principal Investigator of the OPTITWIN project.
