Plans for CIE building to be published soon
A unique partnership with local companies, the region and Sønderborg municipality was established in 2017, which provides us with the financial resources to build a new Centre for Industrial Electronics as part of the Electrical Engineering section. The centre, CIE, will be placed in a new building, connected by a bridge to the old Alsion.
The drawings for the new building has now been finished, and will be published around middle of January. The new CIE building will accommodate laboratories and test facilities for the new center.
The building is planned to be finished in 2019. Besides making SDU Sønderborg a light house for state-of-the-art electronics and newly developed industry collaborations, CIE will also allow SDU to react positively on another societal challenge of the region, namely missing engineers with a profound knowledge in electronics.
