Apply before 15 March for mechatronics

uniTEST assesses your ability to think and solve problems in ways that are important for completing a university degree.

You are not tested within a specific subject area, and we do not expect you to know everything before you start your studies.

How we evaluate your test score

You can achieve a test score between 0 and 100. To pass you need a minimum of 45 points.

Passing the test means that you are in the pool of applicants with a possibility for admission. Admission may require a higher score depending on the number of applicants and how these perform.

How the test areas are weighted in mechatronics

  • 60% quantitative thinking
  • 30% critical thinking
  • 10% linguistic thinking

Before the test

Why take uniTEST?

The uniTEST is designed to assess your general academic abilities – not your subject knowledge. The test focuses on skills that are important for completing a university education, such as problem-solving, critical thinking and understanding written material.

The uniTEST measures your ability to:

  • analyse information, argue and make decisions (critical thinking)
  • solve problems based on numbers, graphs and general quantitative information (quantitative thinking)
  • understand texts and the social and cultural contexts they reflect (linguistic thinking)

You are not tested on a specific curriculum and the information you need to answer the questions is provided in the test.

EU/EEA citizens

As an international student you must apply for admission no lather than 15 March at 12 noon (CET).

If your grades can be converted to the Danish grading system, your application may be assessed in quota 1, where admission is based on your grade point average (GPA).

If you wish to be considered for places allocated through quota 2, you must register for the uniTEST. Your application will then be assessed based on your test results.

However, even though your grades can be converted, SDU recommends that you take the uniTEST regardless.By doing so, you will be assessed based on both your grades and your test results, which improves your chances of admission.

Non-EU/EEA citizens

All non-EU/EEA citizens will be invited to take the uniTEST because your grades cannot be converted to the Danish grading system. You will receive your invitation via SDU's self-service system at sdu.dk/admission.

uniTEST with in-person attendance at SDU in Odense:

  • 17 and 18 April 2027

uniTEST with online participation:

  • 20-25 April 2027

If you are in Denmark, you must take the uniTEST in person at SDU's Odense Campuse

The address is:

  • Campusvej 55, 5230 Odense M, Denmark

The test is a paper-based examination, a multiple-choice questionnaire. You will receive both a test booklet and an answer sheet on the day of the test.

If you are not in Denmark when taking the test

You must take uniTEST online using your own computer. While completing the test, you will be connected to a uniTEST supervisor who monitors the examination process to ensure fair and valid test administration.

Participation requires that both your computer and your testing environment meet certain technical and practical requirements.

We are currently planning uniTEST 2027, more information will come in week 50.

If you have dyslexia, dyscalculia, or a physical or mental disability, you may apply for special test conditions when you register for uniTEST.

If your application is approved, you must take uniTEST online from home using your own computer.

To participate, your computer and testing environment must meet certain technical and practical requirements.

How to apply

You apply for special test conditions when you register for uniTEST through SDU’s admissions portal

Your application must include:

  • relevant documentation of your dyslexia, dyscalculia, or physical/mental disability
  • a short description of the challenges you expect to face during the test and the support you require

This information helps us assess your application and arrange appropriate test conditions in advance.

Special test conditions may include:

  • additional time to complete the test
  • permission to use specific aids or software
  • other relevant adjustments related to the test situation

We are currently planning uniTEST 2027, more information will come (samme tekst som på den danske side)

You cannot prepare by studying specific subject content for uniTEST, but it is still important to prepare.

uniTEST does not assess your knowledge of specific subjects. Instead, it measures a range of academic abilities. To become familiar with the test format, we recommend reviewing the sample questions before taking the test.

As many questions involve reading and understanding written information within a limited amount of time, it may be helpful to practice reading longer texts and identifying key information quickly.
