Theoretical and applied statistics with special emphasis on multivariate statistics, geometric morphometrics, Bayesian inference, survival analysis, stochastic population modelling, extreme value statistics and its applications in science and engineering.

It is expected that a PhD fellow publishes 3-4 articles on the results of the research project. Results will be published in the best statistical journals or journals within the application area.

Person responsible for the research programme

Associate Professor Hans Christian Petersen

Other researchers associated with the programme

Courses offered by the programme

Courses in multivariate statistics, statistical modeling, mathematical statistics, and extreme value statistics.

Other relevant information

We have a wide range of international contacts in the fields of theoretical statistics, mathematical demography, biological statistics and extreme value statistics.
