CROSSWIND

CROSSWIND is an INTERREG 6 research project performed in collaboration between Flensburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany, and Centre for Industrial Mechanics (CIM) at SDU in Denmark. CROSSWIND is supported by INTERREG Deutschland-Danmark with funds from the European Regional Development Fund.

The focus of the network project is to investigate a cost optimised small wind turbine concept with public acceptance for private households or medium-sized enterprises in the INTERREG region. The objective of CROSSWIND is to collect information about benchmarking and regional installation conditions of small wind turbines. Furthermore, different open-source software will be investigated to find the best solution for small wind turbines. Last but not least, to establish a strong cross-border collaboration for stakeholders in the sector of small wind turbines, synergies and core competencies will be identified and merged for teaching purposes and to support the collaboration of the Danish-German working cultures of the two academic partners.

Project results and reports will be used to promote CROSSWIND and its network partners for future research proposals within the INTERREG 6A programme.
