The Master’s in European Geopolitics, International Security and Law (EGISL) is a special, English-taught programme that every year accepts 15 aspiring students seeking to navigate the complex geopolitical challenges of our time. MOISL proudly participates in the EGISL programme, and therefore five MOISL students can apply to attend this special track.

The EGISL partnership between Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland, the University of Southern Denmark, and Sciences Po Strasbourg in France, will provide you with an integrated understanding of international law, security, and diplomacy to help you tackle a wide range of European and global problems – giving you the practical skills and global network needed for a high-impact career in international organizations, government, or the private sector working for example on political risk analysis or cyber security.

The programme additionally provides a solid foundation if interested in pursuing doctoral (PhD) programs across Europe.

Successful graduates will earn a triple degree, i.e., a master’s degree from each of the three participating universities.

EGISL: A Unique Three-Country Journey

The programme emphasizes mobility both as an academic and cultural experience. You will spend each of your first three semesters in a different European country, gaining first-hand exposure to different views of the international system, teaching methods, and cultural contexts.

Your EGISL journey begins in the historic city of Poznań, continues in the Nordic security hub of Odense, and culminates in the political heart of Europe, Strasbourg.

Curriculum: From Foundational Knowledge to Strategic Simulation

EGISL is a 120 ECTS programme. You will study the legal and institutional foundations of the international system in Poland, delve into critical studies of modern conflict and international law in Denmark, and finally integrate these perspectives into a sophisticated understanding of geopolitics and diplomacy in France.

The programme emphasizes practical skills as you progress, with a hands-on crisis simulation at the University of Southern Denmark and workshops on negotiation and conflict resolution at Sciences Po Strasbourg.

You can further tailor your studies through elective modules, which offer specialized content in various formats, including online and intensive summer schools.

Admissions: Join a Select International Cohort

Admission to the EGISL programme is highly selective, with a single international cohort of 15 students admitted each year. MOISL has five spots in this group.

We seek candidates with a strong academic background from a relevant undergraduate degree (for example, International Relations, Political Science, Law, European Studies, Contemporary History) and a demonstrated proficiency in English (C1).

Participating MOISL students who are EU citizens are eligible for Erasmus grants for the two semesters that you spend away from Odense.

Admission to the EGISL programme requires that you are admitted to the Master in International Security and Law programme.

Very soon you can read more about the admission process to the EGISL programme here.
