Surveys and analyses

Each engineering programme is associated to an advisory board of external stakeholders advising the educational management about business intent, relevance, future competence needs etc.

See the Advisory boards of the Faculty of Engineering here.

The graduate surveys are, as a minimum, released every three years (2012, 2015, 2018 etc.)

Read the reports here.

“Welcome”-surveys are distributed when needed (not necessarily every year) in October to all new engineering students. The surveys cover recruitment, marketing, the study start’s introduction week and general background information about the new students. The reports are discussed in every individual Education Committee and on an aggregated level in the Study Board.

The study start surveys are distributed every December to new engineering students (on bachelor level). The survey covers new students’ experience of the first semester, including the semester’s goal achievement regarding SDU’s Principles of Study Start. The reports are discussed in each individual Education Committee and on an aggregated level in the Study Board.

The master’s introduction surveys are distributed in December (summer admission) and May (winter admission). It covers the civil engineers’ start of the master’s program, including the goals for SDU’s Principles of Study Start. The reports are discussed in each Education Committee and in the Study Board on an aggregated level.

The teaching surveys are distributed in May and November as a supplement to each lecturer’s oral course evaluation.

Together with exam statistics, the results are presented to the Education Committee and at the status meetings and to the Study Board.

Read the quantitative results of the teaching evaluations here.

The semester evaluations are distributed in May and November to the Bachelor of Engineering- and to the Civil Engineering students (on bachelor level) at 1st and 4th semester as a supplement to the semester coordinator’s oral semester evaluation. The reports are discussed in the individual Education Committees and in the Study board on an aggregated level.

Currently, you can receive the results from your semester evaluation by contacting your Study Program Coordinator (published on this website in 2020).

The study environment surveys are distributed in odd years and covers the students’ physical and mental well-being on SDU in general. The study environment evaluations are discussed in the individual Education Committees and in the Study Board on an aggregated level.

The student evaluations of entire educations are distributed in June and December to graduating students on their last semester. The survey covers the student’s general evaluation of their engineering program. The evaluations are discussed in individual Education Committee and in the Study Board on an aggregated level.

Are held as required for each engineering program – but minimum every six years. At the evaluation, a panel of extern experts are combined consisting of:

  • An expert with core competences
  • A representative from the advisory board
  • An external examiner from the education
  • A quality system expert

The advisory board is, as a minimum, receiving the programme’s education report and is meeting with the educational management, lecturers and students.

Based on the advisory board’s work, the panel is making a SWOT-analysis for the programme that is discussed in the programme´s Education Committee and on the next status meeting.
