Yvonne Galligan, MRIA is founding Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Professor of Comparative Politics at Technological University Dublin. Yvonne has published extensively on gender equality issues in politics and public life and in higher education. Her recent publications include ‘Gender equality plans in research organisations and higher education institutions as a catalyst for transformative and sustainable change’ in the She Figures 2024 Policy Report DOI: 10.2777/934401.
She holds an honorary doctorate in social science from the University of Edinburgh and received an OBE for services to higher education in the UK. She is also an Honorary Fellow of Trinity College Dublin, a member of the Royal Irish Academy and Fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences. In 2024 she was awarded the Sir Isaiah Berlin Prize for professional contribution to political studies by the Political Studies Association.
