This course is for students in the Faculty of Health Sciences who are thinking about doing a PhD, are applying to do a PhD, or are at the start of their PhD.
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the main elements of a PhD and how to prepare a PhD application.
The course includes:
- Practical aspects of the PhD education, e.g. content of a PhD application, required elements of a PhD, format of the PhD defence
- Academic aspects of a PhD project e.g. research design, ethical principles, literature search, research processes, funding possibilities
The course is held twice a year: every Spring (usually mid-May) and Autumn (usually mid-October).
