International talent as a catalyst for technological scaling

Autorola is a global player in digital car auctions and data driven solutions for the automotive industry. With customers and partners across borders, the company faces a growing need to scale quickly — both technologically and organizationally. This is where student assistants play a central role.

Today, the company employs 25–30 student assistants at its Odense office, several of whom come from international backgrounds. For Autorola, students are not just additional capacity but a strategic asset, bringing professional competencies, linguistic strengths, and a global outlook that naturally aligns with the company’s international business.
In their daily work, students handle a wide range of tasks. Many begin by helping to train the company’s AI systems, but those with the right skills also get the opportunity to take on more advanced responsibilities. This creates a flexible structure where students can grow into the role and take on greater ownership if their competencies and motivation match the company’s needs.

A key part of Autorola’s model is its ability to build structure and processes. This makes it possible to onboard several students at once, train them in the same workflows, and introduce them to tasks simultaneously. For Autorola, this means they can respond quickly to new demands without committing to permanent positions or long term staffing needs. At the same time, this approach serves as a natural talent pipeline, where students who thrive and develop become strong candidates for future full time roles.

Takeaways for other companies

  • International students can strengthen global perspectives — especially in companies with international customers.
  • Flexible student jobs can be used to test and develop individual competencies.
  • Batch hiring enables companies to build talent pipelines without committing to fixed long term needs.
