In our daily research we distinguish between three levels:
Firstly, on the overall level, we are dedicated to heterogeneous disciplines that are broadly known as organizational studies and critical management. We emphasize and celebrate theoretical and methodological pluralism believing that this is the dynamics that contributes to a progressive and successful team. Firmly anchored in our critical heritage, we aim to challenge institutionalized patterns in business and management research communities and society in general by challenging dominating methods and theories through internal and external discussions, theory synthesizing, and applying mixed methods.
Secondly, on the next level, our research is organized within three major and often overlapping themes: organizational communication, leadership and human resource management/work life research. We see these themes as highly relevant for research exploring the recent development of modern business and work life both within a Scandinavian context as well as on a global scale.
Thirdly, after identifying our research tradition and outlining our three thematic streams of research, we work at the operational level with a wide range of topics that are either related to the individual member of the team, research clusters within the group, or larger collaborative projects that also involve researchers from external networks or organizations. We emphasize individual research autonomy as long as topics can be embedded within our disciplines and our three themes. Framed by our themes, we look at topics belonging to the private, public, and the third sector.
