The Oticon Foundation is a commercial foundation whose main purpose is to safeguard and develop the commercial activities of William Demant Holding and William Demant Invest and to sponsor charitable causes.
The foundation supports activities in the following areas:
- Education and other measures whose aim is to prevent and remedy hearing loss.
- Publications, conferences and campaigns that seek to disseminate knowledge of hearing and hearing loss among researchers, professional audiologists and the public.
- Research projects in the fields of audiology, psychoacoustics, psychology and sociology.
- Research projects, conferences, publications and other methods whose aim is to disseminate knowledge of audiology and hearing aids, especially those that address children.
- Grants for young researchers who want to work at Oticon's Eriksholm research centre or researchers who have their own projects that are in line with the Oticon Foundation's purpose.
- Projects that involve improving the quality of life for children and adults with the help of education, social activities and the application of new information technology.
