The Danish Maritime Fund

The Danish Maritime Fund was established to develop and promote Danish shipping and the Danish shipbuilding industry. This it does by providing financial support for research, technology and product development, training, recruitment and other initiatives with a maritime focus.

1. Who can apply?
In order to be considered, applications must be from a company, an institution or a person with significant activities in Denmark and/or an attachment to or a strong interest in the Danish maritime industry, i.e. the shipping industry, the shipbuilding industry and ancillary industries, service companies, research and education institutions, service organisations and public authorities.

2. Which types of project/activity are eligible for support?
No detailed criteria have been stipulated for the types of activity the foundation wishes to support, but the Board favours applications for activities that are innovative, forward-looking and business-oriented, and that therefore have commercial potential. This means projects that lead to new departures and develop competences and the competitiveness of the Danish maritime sector. The Board therefore wants grants to go to business-related activities in order to strengthen growth in the industry and create more jobs.

Applications are processed by the foundation's Board four times a year.
It is also possible to apply for MBA grants and these applications are processed on an ongoing basis.

For more information see the foundation's website.
