The Augustinus Foundation

 

The Augustinus Foundation Denmark is a private foundation founded in 1942 by the manufacturer Ludvig Augustinus. The aim of the foundation is to "promote general charitable and humane, artistic, scientific or similar activities".

IMPORTANT! Since the Augustinus Foundation originated in the tobacco industry, individuals that receive grants from the foundation are barred from support from the Danish Cancer Society for 10 years. Read more in the Danish Cancer Society's ethical guidelines...

The foundation offers support in the following areas, for example:

  • Combating disease
  • Cultural activities
  • Conservation of the environment, nature and buildings
  • Study trips
  • Education
  • Research

The foundation does not support, for example:

  • Personal grants for improving people's financial situation, courses, recreational purposes and stays at health resorts.
  • Study trips for groups.
  • Studying in Denmark.
  • Projects that take the form of support for maintenance or administration of an activity.
  • Commercial activities.

Applications must be submittet online (see the foundation's website). There are no set deadlines for applications.

In recent years, grants have amounted to between DKK 100m and just over 200m annually.
